Lateness and Cancellations

24 hours' notice is required to avoid being charged for the session.
Because respect for one's time goes both ways, if I need to cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, your next session will be on me.

If you are running late, please let me know if possible. I build padding into my schedule so I may still be able to accommodate your full appointment time. Please remember that at Treat Yourself Right, a 60 minute massage is a full 60 minutes of massage time!

During snow season and for other weather or illness emergencies, I am flexible with my cancellation policy.

Your Confidentiality is Respected

Your session will remain confidential, as it should be with any healthcare provider. Your file is available only to you and to those with a release form signed by you.

Payment is Convenient at Treat Yourself Right

In addition to cash and checks made payable to "Treat Yourself Right" or "TYRMassage," I also use Square to process credit and debit cards. If you would like to pay for your session (or for a gift certificate) online, you can do that as well through my online store.*

Disclaimers and Clarifications

I am not a medical doctor, nurse, physical therapist or counselor. It is outside of the Massage Therapist's scope of practice to diagnose and/or prescribe treatment. I will be happy to work with you within my ability, and can provide you with a form to allow communication with your doctor in cases where that would be helpful.

If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, massage could be contraindicated. It is your responsibility to arrive in a state of mind and body safe for receiving massage. Treat Yourself Right Massage and Bodywork will not be held responsible if you have an adverse reaction to massage while under the influence if you fail to disclose drug and/or alcohol use, or if you fail to disclose a condition which contraindicates massage therapy.

Massage Therapy in Virginia is a licensed health care profession. Even joking references to illicit services are taken seriously and will result in termination of the session and legal action.
